(Site life: 6/97)
I Revolution (temporary site) was an external Hewlett-Packard Company site created to announce the Internet Imaging Revolution event held in New York on June 25, 1997.
The site provided visitors with a Flash movie which tied together the varied technological, consumer-oriented, and conceptual strands of the HP Imaging Revolution. This 120 second Shockwave Flash movie included sound, images, and interactive links to specific information. The site also served as a registration site where potential attendees could register for the event.
I handled Flash storyboard and creation, CGI scripting for the registration, and all HTML implementation for the site.
A second phase of the I Revolution site replaced the first one as the registration process closed. A smaller Shockwave Flash movie was created and then exported to an animated gif so that not having the Plug-In would not prove to be a problem the day of the event. This splash page linked users to the new Imaging Revolution "Gallery" site.
The gallery site was created and posted to parallel the June 25 event. During the event, a framed layout allowed users to browse a gallery of FlashPix (or JPEG -- depending on whether or not the user had the plug-in) while watching a live Wordcast of the event.
As soon as the event ended, a new version of the Gallery site was posted which linked users to a transcript of the Wordcast, left the Flashpix/JPEG gallery live, and incorporated a "Find Your Roll" option for those who attended the event and had a "roll number" for digital photos they took.
A parallel site, minus the Wordcast, was created to be used in the kiosks during the June 25 event.
Responsibilities: all graphics (including conversion of jpgs to FlashPix format), all Flash work, HTML, multimedia, on-site monitoring in New York, and all updates over a 5-week period.

attitude adjustment: the rules of the bazaar
HP's Mobile E-Services Bazaar has proven that an unusual and collaborative - maybe even bizarre - approach to defining, developing, and deploying e-services can and does work. Indeed, with its small global team, it is hard to believe the number of successes rolling out of the bazaar - and rolling they are. With a speed uncommon and unexpected in many large corporations, the Bazaar crafts and polishes e-services bundles culled from companies around the world - big and small.
